Exemplar canopy components
I have been thinking of three different elements for my proposed canopy design: structure, membrane and presence + identity. I think these images some up my intentions well.
Now what should the design look like? Something along these lines?

Development of a design proposal
The following sketches show my thought process through the sketch design phase of the project. Various adjacency requirements and spatial forms are realised and researched further.

This sketch illustrates the opportunities for increased connection between parliament, Canberra and the nation.
A decision to be made - The extent of work for my design proposal
The sketch shows my anticipated extent of work to parliament house. The proposed design will investigate the use of the parliamentary forecourt, its connection with parliament, with Canberra and with the nation itself.
Flexible Spaces
Glazing systems that offer flexible space solutions. This idea could be used in the canopy of my design to create a dynamic, multi-functional space underneath.
